Alanis @ 14 months

She is getting prettier and prettier as she is more lady look now. She has drop her weight from 8.2 kg to 7.8 kg due to diarrohea and vomitting. But she is picking up her weight slowly again.

She is so active and been non stop talking in her baby language. But she picked up words very fast. Everytime, when we teach her new words, she can say it immediately after we said it. For example, pen, upstair, apple, three, five.... When she listen to music, she will roll her body and starts to sing along.

Up to now, she still can't walk by herself. When we hold her, she can walk. She likes to climb up staircase and she can climb very fast. She loves to eat any adult foods especially soup that cooked by my MIL. She still on porridge and cereal. She has fruit everyday.

She been starting more on formula - pediasure than my breastmilk. She has breastmilk once a day as I am trying to reduce my breastmilk. She enjoys her pediasure well.

Sabah Trip

We have a great time in Sabah. I have my cousin sister Cherlynn to go with me. So that she can help me on handling Alanis and carrying things. I think without her, I can't have a enjoyable Sabah trip. Alanis really needs a lot of attention to take care of her. She is an active baby. Once she wake up, she starts moving around and I have to start following her... Really tiring....

Breastmilk vs Pediasure Complete

Today, I still feed my baby with breastmilk. In fact, I still have a lot of breastmilk. I always wonder why I am deserve to have so much milk. Until today, Alanis still fully breast milk feeding.

I brought Alanis for 1 year old checkup and I told the doctor that I planned to stop breastfeeding soon. Doctor recommended that to give her Pediasure Complete as she is so small. She needs extra calory and protein to boost her height. Hopefully after she drink Pediasure, her height can increast a lot.

On the first day trying Pediasure, she drink 2.5 oz from drinking cup. But she refuse to continue drinking it. I thought I have a smooth transition... hehe... no... not that easy as I thought. So now, I am mixing breast milk with the formula in 80 to 20 rules. Means, 1.5 oz of formula with 4 oz of breastmilk. She is accepting well now.

And I found out a new things. Now, she can drink milk by feeding her with spoon. She can finish the 6 oz of milk in 10 mins time. Last time, we always have difficult time to feed her milk as she only drink milk when she is sleeping mode. Today, I realise that she is ok with milk but she doesnt like milk bottle. So now, I no longer has any stress to feed her milk whenever she sleep....

Good news to me right?

Alanis 1 year old birthday party

Today, 8/8/09 is Alanis birthday party. I am so busy since yesterday. It is because I decided to make blueberry cheese tarts and fruit tarts for her birthday party. 1 week before the party, I already tried to make 1 recipe of blueberry cheesetart to tried out as I scare the taste is not good. After testing and good comments from the families members, yesterday I started to make the crust. I took 1 day leave to prepare for that. I really put a lot of efforts for this birthday party. The whole full day of Friday, I am just preparing the crust.

On the actual day itself, I started to prepare the cheese filling and also the custard filling for the fruits tarts. I am so happy, the tarts are turn out great and lots of guests are enjoying it. Besides, yi po also prepare 'Kuih Sago'. It is tasted nice as well.

The cake that I ordered is so beautiful and I am so satisfied with the works that they do.
On the other hands, Stan is busying decorating the house with the ballons which we picked up from the ballons shop. My maid is putting Alanis to sleep to make sure she has enough sleeping and her mood is good. Then she dressed her up well and beautiful.

Alanis soon to be 1 year old...

Time flies. Alanis soon to be 1 year old. I have planned a party for her. Of course, most of the guests are mommy and daddy friends and relatives. Po po and yi poh chou is coming down from SP for this celebration as well.

I have ordered a buffet dinner for the guests. In order to make the party to have full birthday party ambience, I ordered ballons, banner and buy Alanis a princess Crown. Besides, I also ordered a Fondant Cartoon cake for her. The cake is designed by me and ask the bakery shop si fu follow my design. I really want to give her a memorable birthday party. For her, I think she still doesn't understand anything. But this will give her a memorable memory when she grew up.

I can't wait to see the ballons and cake on the actual day. Hope everything turns out great.

Alanis Covershot

We took a photo covershot from DeEgg studio on 16/4/2009. It was really a nice memory and nice result of the photo shooting. Now, when she looks at the photo album, she will say 'Yan Yan'... that her name in cantonese...I feel so happy and satisfied everytime I view the album. Enjoy some of the photos.

Swimming in the pool

Darling bought Alanis a playing pool. We kept the pool for some times because not really have time to blow it and let Alanis to play. Finally, my maid keep pushing us to let Alanis play water in the pool that we bough.

So darling blow up the pool and fill in with water. I boiled almost 6 liter of boiling water and 2 piles of hot water from water heater to fill the pool. We never thought that the pool is so big and we need so much water. Finally, everything is ready.
